Dreams Come True

Few months back
Mummy have joined this contest
organized by Drypers Malaysia

She submitted this :

"I wish my son can have the most innovative play tools
that can help in improving his speech and sensory skills which he lacks of."

She didnt put up much hope on this
just joining it for fun
and of course she didnt win

But the surprise came few weeks after
she received an email from them
they were doing a post-mortem survey on the above contest
and they noticed Mummy's unique wish
they wanna know further why Mummy have such a wish

So from there started all the replying email
that lead to today meet point
Drypers have make a special arrangement
with NASOM ( The National Autism Society of Malaysia)
for a second opinion/assessment of my situation
for FREE
(after the assessment, Mummy did ask how much they charge usually ? the answer is RM250!)

our appointment was scheduled on 9am
so we left very early from home,
but we still reach there 15 minutes late
the place was quite difficult to locate
coz Daddy not very familiar with that area

Here we are at their Jalan Pahang Centre

Assessment/Diagnosis/General Enquiries on Autism
NASOM-Kiwanis PJ Autism One-Stop Centre
340 Jalan Pahang
53000 Kuala Lumpur
Tel No :  03-40236698

Notice this poster pasted on their wall
very informative indeed

of all the above , guess how many im in?

dont be surprised if i tell im having all of the above
except talks over and over about the same thing
coz i cant even utter a word yet
im still in my babbling mode

but that was before i went for the therapy
after a few session of therapy
im proudly to say im improving

i started to have more eye contact
i can accept changes, but slowly
i can play in a very small group, not more than 2 person
and i started to have pretend play
i will pay a very short attention when people around me is talking
mummy still thinking what she need to do with my tiptoeing and flapping hands

after 2 hours of interviewing and answering questionnaire
with a very nice lady
Miss Rica

finally i can sit down and relax with Daddy
while waiting for the assessment result
hopes everything turns out fine

bear with Mummy ya,
this will be a very long post
coz she wants to record each & every things
in detail

here's go the result :

Mummy knew from the start
she have to let me attend intervention class
but she dont know where to look for one

Luckily at NASOM here
they have one guidebook of all the centre available throughout Malaysia
so Mummy got the one more nearer to her office
and will try to call up to look for more info

basically this was what happened in the morning

We left the centre around 12 pm after getting
the 2nd assessment result

p/s - Im really feel glad that i came here. The whole environment was much much different from HUKM, where Iyson got his 1st assessment. Here, they more approachable and friendly, even Iyson also can mingle around with all of their staff. He will become kepochi and looks at everyone who was doing their own things there. And i feel so relief after hearing the psychologist, Ms Rica evaluation about Iyson. She can go very details regarding his attitude, behaviour and manner. I love the way she said about Iyson, 'he's still young, he just need guidance. Yes, he did show symptoms of an autistic child, but we cant said he's a 100% one. For some child, we can direct labelled them as autistic, but not for ur child. Coz he's showing a lot of emerging skills , which autistic child wont show at all. And he do respond to certain level which again, an autistic child find it hard to do.. So dont worry too much, u let him try on the intervention first, from there he can learns and start to pick up slowly and gradually. After a year or 18 mths, you can bring him back for another assessment. By that time we can clearly tell you, whether he's one or not."

And again, i really want to said a big thanks to Drypers Malaysia for arranging this with NASOM for me and Iyson. Deep down in our heart, we knew we're the GRAND PRIZE WINNER!!!
